The primary school years are a very important phase of a child’s development. During the school years, children gain independence and competence quickly. A child’s self-confidence will be affected by the academic and social challenges presented in the school environment.
Since 2020, BMRF has started working in a range of environments to promote caregiver and teacher competencies in the institutional care and educational development of underprivileged children aged 6 to 12 years.
We have to date, conducted parenting and child development training programmes for in-house school teachers as well as in partnerships with other NGOs working in government primary schools and institutional home settings.
The core goals of our training programmes are to create awareness on the psycho-social needs and development of primary school-aged children, highlighting the importance of the sense of self and relationships in shaping the child’s personality, and building effective social-emotional competencies.
