VISION, MISSION & OBJECTIVES


The Network for Information on Parenting initiated by BMRF in 1999, is a collective of NGOs and ECCD Professional in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Its focus is on sharing knowledge and addressing parents and those in a parenting role on issues of child development and psycho social interaction.

Vision

A collective to redefine parenting, promote effective parenting practices, focus on psychosocial needs of children and build the capacities of parents and communities by disseminating appropriate information on child development from birth to eighteen years.

Mission

To promote effective parenting and cater to the holistic development of the child by emphasising the importance of family, and adoption of holistic and comprehensive strategies that build the capacities of parents and caregivers through interactive process of stimulation.

Objectives

  • To promote the concept of parenting and nurturing, irrespective of class, age or gender.
  • To provide a platform for sharing information and debating on issues concerning children.
  • To network and develop multi-sector linkages with Government, NGOs, and others in the field, and to consolidate and strengthen existing efforts and develop common strategies within the broader framework, for enhancement of child development practices, critically for the 0-3 years stage.
  • To advocate and form a lobby for strengthening/enhancing policy issues on the care and development of children, and for implementation of policy on ECCD, and the care and protection of children.
