HOME VISITING

Home visiting is a central element of the project aimed at supporting and enabling parents to promote their children’s optimal learning and development.

Our home visiting programme reaches out to pregnant women and parents of all children aged 0 to 6 years as part of a comprehensive village-wide ECCD model proving information, support, and resources.

Goals

  • Increase parent knowledge on all aspects of early childhood development, including health and nutrition.
  • Promote positive parenting practices for children’s optimal development. Early identification of developmental delays.
  • Increase children’s school readiness.
  • Monitoring of growth and stage-wise developmental milestones.
  • Enhance parent communication, interaction, and engagement.

The home visiting manual developed by BMRF in collaboration with UNICEF is used to collect baseline socio-economic and demographic information for each child as well as conduct bi-annual developmental assessments based on a range of milestones for each age-group, helping to correct gaps and chart goals / intended outcomes for the next stage.

This tool has recently been enhanced to include child development parameters and age-appropriate stimulations from the NDDS Looksee Checklist.
